What's the deal with motards and F3?

Hey guys, what's the deal with motards and F3 these days? I've been trying to find out and it seems there have been a few winges in the past but unsure of what things stand at today.

Just trying to get an idea for as many options possible to enter into with a do it all KTM 525 street motard/off-roader/road racer. Not looking to win prizes or anything, just want to have fun and do battle on track.
...Full throttle till you see god, then brake.

You'll have to contact whichever club you hope to race with and find out their suplimentry regs regarding the issue. Some clubs alow it, others don't.

Motards are fucking boring at Pukekohe. A bit o humour at Hampton. Freakin awesome at Taupo. MUrdered at Manfield.

Here are the vioces of F3 Riders (ex F3 and Motard Rider myself)

1/ they take different lines waaaa waaaa

2/ they back it in to corners waaaa waaaa

3/ They stick there foot out waaaa waaaa

facts are, which class of race bikes all have the same lines? if they all did race tracks only need be 3ft wide.
On a full blown taupo manfield hampton track NZ motarders are rarely doing the backing in thing, most cant do it anyway. implementing a simple rule to blackflag those few backing it in would have been sufficient to solve this issue.
Sticking their foot out is a load of crap, if anything they stick their foot forward to get the boot of the peg at hard lean angles..........so what?
A knee out on a sports bike takes up more room

the FACT is F3 riders bitched and moaned about it as many of them where getting their arses whipped by a lighter and faster Motard bike thereby upsetting their little personal "WOOO IM LIKE ROSSI" moments........precious fuckers !!

Whatever. Apart from Mr Atkins maybe......

I think motards are great. It means more bikes out there which adds to the $$ for entry pool and potentially keeps the entry fees plateaued. Some good racing sometimes too.....

As for running with F3 - just split start em...

Before Motards they did the same thing to 125GP

The truth of the matter is that no one racing F3 liked Quasi so they banned motards racing with them. It was all done to piss him off, no real reasoning behind it at all.

Having met him more than once I can understand that line of thought

There is no deal - no motards in F3

    Indeed.

If there is a motard class already running - why should they also qualify for the F3 class and get to double dip? Are F3 bikes able to run in the motard class - I don't think so.......

There's a few F3 that also qualify for Pre89 and do both though, if you bike is class eligible there should be no reason you can't cross enter unless it excludes someone who can only enter one class

uhhh if your f3 bike is supermotard legal you could enter it. who has one of those...............thought about it but i reckon they'd get a little grumpy

The only problem with motards i ever found is on some corners when they pitch it into the corner hard (ala MX) and your taking a big swoopy line, by the time you find out about it you can be in some trouble, especially when theres a big wall in the middle of your escape plan, which has a tendency to make u a little grumpy.

It's actually the slower, newer S&M guys that cause problems. especially cause there often caught up with slower, less confident newer f3 riders.
