Yeah, they're lighter, faster and more imporantly, slow down A LOT quicker...often sideways. We want to race against similar machinery. Laptimes of a decently ridden motard on most of NZ's short tracks are more akin to F2. If you want to race against different machinery, there's a class called clubmans. By your analogy I guess you'd also be happy racing your motard against Holden V8 Utes?

Quasi is right though....F3 is a stupid class these days and really needs to be opened up to a lot of newer motorcycles. Phasers, XJ6's, GSR's, 696 Ducati Monsters, Bandit 650's, 600 hornets, ZR750s', Aprillia Shivers, GSF750's, etc should all be investigated and it would make the racing far more relevant, cheaper and get more riders racing.

Trouble with most of the bikes you mentioned is they'd just end up being unfaired versions of their Supersport cousins. A Hornet ends up being powered by a CBR600RR donk (or most parts thereof), GSF/GSXR750 etc. You can already race a 2 valve 750 so Monsters are already a goer.
I like the idea of a class for tinkerers, creating GeeDub's "Duke" framed SV, Ozzy's 450 triples, or Greg Percival's de-stroked R6 etc. Long live the big brained alternative thinkers and their red wine fuelled inspiration.
As for the 'tard's in F3? If they are gonna ride in an appropriate manner then go for it. A bike is a bike, so if something meets the class rules then what's the problem? To say clip-ons are required smacks of someone getting their arse kicked and desperately thinking of a way to make it stop.
