Calm down people, take a look at the Guide to major events management document for the word cup.
It states;
Exemptions from the prohibition of advertising states; Page 18 & 20
"where advertising is on clothing or on another personel items being worn, carried or used by a member of the public.
This exemption does not apply if the advertising is worn, carried or used in co-ordination with other people with the intention of drawing attention to that advertising"
Just means you cant stand next to your mates if you all wearing the same 'unofficial' branded shirts etc
And you trust a temporary guard to know that? The guard will do what he has been taught to and if they have summarised that to be 'no alternative branded gear' then you can stand and argue the toss whilst the rest of the crowd go in. Enjoy the game.
