    Angry Fruit & Veges

So this has been pissin me for awhile now the cost of fruit & veges has gone stupid in the past few months , E.g : $14 per kg for tomato's , $5ea for a cucumber , $4ea for capisiums .

So what I dont understand is why New World wants to rub it in our faces with an advert of them using veges for fecking instruments ............
    What a waste of food

Damn straight! Those feckers and their peeling, screwing, blowing ways! It's a vege buying sham!

Have a look outside your window, now see what brilliant sunshine we're having. Perfect growing weather this time of year! Happens every year when we hit winter, people moan and groan about the price of vege or fruit. At least they're not blatent rip off prices like milk, cheese and butter.

I got 5 large ex-flower pots with cabbage, cauli, brussel sprouts, broccoli and silverbeat in. A bed that's about 8" deep with lettuces, beetroot and other bits and pieces. The bed is a galv steel trough I picked up from somewhere (can't remember). We in an industrial area with no garden but for the trough and other stuff and do pretty damn good out of it. Only thing we buy is fruit.

grow yah own... :-) we have vege garden, couple of fruit trees, (apple, lime and fejoa or something) rurbarb, and various berrys
all to help with the cost of living and stop relying on other people... going to collect our own water and if I had room for stock I would have that to...

as for the advert... errr... agreed

Nice work, and I agree wholeheartedly. However, even with no garden, there are now "patio planters that accomodate for the garden space challenged. So even if you're renting and can't convince the landlord you need a vegie patch, you can still grow a few things to help you through.

What's the point of burning vegies silly?

Oh, I see... you can't cook, can ya?

    That's huge.

Do you mean 20 square metres?
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
