I was reflecting on the potential Oedipal inference rather than anything to do with you ma'am. As for ronin, he lives in the back blocks of the Wairarapa. I always wondered why my arse hurt when I woke up face down after my last accident.

He's in the cave of Adullam.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

You're not wrong. Although it wasn't done intentionally, it's just a product of the site growing.

What happens is lots of new people join and, because they're new, they're all polite and shit so they don't offend anyone as they want to be accepted and make friends etc. Unfortunately, the number of polite little sheep outstrips the number of those less inclined to be inoffensive. So the older members get bored and frustrated and gradually bugger off back to the real world and get on with their lives. Which leaves us with a much larger, but extremely boring and characterless membership.

Probably the main indicator of this is the number of Moderators on this site these days. The site membership is about 3x what it was a few years back, but the number of Moderators is less than half what it was then. Mostly the Moderators are around just so people know there is actually someone watching.
Zen wisdom: No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. - obviously had KB in mind when he came up with that gem
