Made my day. As much for the happiness that the Samoans will feel as for the wrist-slashing despair the Aussies will be feeling.

@ Oakie. The majority don't actually give a toss about Rugby.

Losing the World Cup to the Kiwis in Rugby League was the major wrist slitter.

    The rest follow Aussie rules.

Joke on the footy show the other night:

What do you need to be a star in Australian League?
Speed, stamina, fitness, skill and dedication.

What do you need to be a star in Australian Union?
    Rich parents.

I wish the Wallabies all the best for the world cup to be honest, still haunted by memorys of Henry sitting in the stand devoid of plan B or C,just sat there then later acted surprised by the All Blacks worst result at any world cup. That and Dingo Deansbit hard for a Cantab to take really.

Back in '91 I was laid up with glandular fever so got to see as many WRC games as I wanted to see (free to air back then)
The Wallabies vs Samoa '91 remains one of the best games I've ever seen
It was a tryless game & I still maintain that the Wallabies were lucky to win, 3-0, luckily for them the Samoans couldn't kick the then new synthetic ball.
They outplayed the Wallabies, went on to beat Wales, I've been a fan of Samoan rugby ever since.
Definitely a wake up call for Oz.

Quote me on this after the RWC is over, Australia will finish ahead of New Zealand!

I can't lose, I will be happy to be proved wrong!

What I want to know is why when Aussie, South Africa, England and the like find it hard to continuously win games against the rest of the world and everyone backs them with the comments of "they will be alright", but if the AB's lose one game they called every name under the sun and told they will never win anything.

Where winning the world cup is a great thing, it is not the be all that some of you make out and I would rather take our win/lose record over winning a dumb little cup any-day.

Absolutely agree. Seems that everything for four years is just build up for the World Cup so if you don't win the cup it's another wasted four years.

Trouble with the AB's is it has always been much harder to get out of the team than to get into it!

Aussie by comparison are more likely to blood in new young players and take a chance on them to perform!

It has often been these young exciting players that have ultimately smoked our old guard and stolen our thunder!

Didn't anybody notice the "REDS" exciting young players smoking the tired old Crusaders recently? Case in point!

And that is my point right there, the reds win one and they are the talk of the town, the crusaders lose one after winning how many and they are old has-beens.

The AB's are still the yard stick the rest of the world measure themselves against, Hell, even the poms want to wear a black jersey in the hope that some talent rubs off.

Didn't you notice the tired old Crusaders flying all the way to Cape Town and bitch-slapping the Stormers all over the park the week before?

Jeebus, an entire season played away from home, they lose the final against a Reds side who had had two weeks off and you're calling them tired and old?? What do you call the other 13 teams that finished below them?

    Case in point my arse.
