Yout have to like her as a person - I've lived long enough to meet a few respected names and some were frankly fucking awful people. There more than a few no bodies on here that will never achive world renown and are bloody awesome people...

Of course there are a few that are NOT nice at all but thats by the by.

You cannot deny that Amy Winehouse CHANGED popular music by being the front person for the a jazz, soul, rock and pop fusion trend that lots of others are following. Fuck all people change anything. By all means dont like her if you want but she was NOT crap.

To suggest otherwise is just plain stupid. To sell ONE hit album is the stuff of dreams for MILLIONS of artists who die trying to be as successful as she was.

She released a couple of decent albums, had some mainstream popularity, Didn't change diddly squat.

If you really want to improve music someone could destroy every "hit" album made in the last 20 years.

Actually, she brought that jazz, swing sort of music back in vogue, there's been heaps since she managed to break through. I'm not saying she set the world on fire, but she did have a positive impact.
