We've now got a couple of inches of snow on top of the ice - and a good sprinkling of hail on top. A nice day to sit tight - and a good chance to test the Mitsubishi Hypercore cold-weather claims. All our planned errands and chores are on hold, and the espresso machine is warmed up and on standby. Yeah, snow days aint so bad...

Sundays though are the worst time for this to happen in the higher hill suburbs. All the affluent dickheads with their 4WD school-run taxis will be piling the kids in the back seat, and trundling up to the hill suburbs to demonstrate their vehicular superiority - followed soon after by the pimply boy-racers practicing "drifting" in their pathetic fart-mobiles.

With the same 4WDs trundling past our house several times, I see that the procession of grinning morons has already started...

When said grinning morons slide off the hill because their fancy offroad (lol) veihcle is running "highway" 4wd tires. Do you then get to grin back?

Or does that only happen in Auckland.I still remember my dad getting the pajero stuck in a paddock, and being towed out by a rover v8, oh the shame (not only did the rover pull us out, he had to traverse the same bit of paddock to be in a position to pull us out).
    Ciao Marco

If you are anywhere near Stuart Street you should go and have a look at the crowds on the overbridge watching everyone lose it going down hill. With Three Mile Hill and Lookout Point closed they had truck and trailers trying to get over that way in to town. Doh.

Lol. It's amazing how few understand the basics of driving in snow, and think that their 4WD school taxi renders them invincible. The common sense of "faster up hill, slower down" seems to escape their logic - as does the basic physics of braking and gravity.
