    Choke switch position on GL145

    Hey guys,

I just bought a GL145 and I'm a little confused about what each choke position does. I'm assuming that full down is full choke. What I'm confused about is what full up is. Is full up fuel cut off or choke off. I put the choke up to the first stop and the bike works well. However when I push it past the first stop to full up it cuts out. Is this normal?

Did you win the blueish one on trademe?

If its a lever on the side of the carb- down is no choke, up is full choke with incremental steps in between.
The lever drops a gate rather than turning a butterfly valve.
First click is probably all it needs until its warm but they are all different.

Now I'm even more confused. So, bike will only start if it's full down. Does that mean that the bike is only starting without choke? So when I put the lever up and it cuts out that means I've enriched the mixture too much?

Yeah, I bought a blue one off trade me about two weeks ago.

I would say yes to both.
It not uncommon to start without choke or just a wee bit.
