There really aren't enough truely shitty business people out there so they sex shit up and spin it all to fuck.

It undermines the few stories where someone has been wronged.

They are self righteous bullies

I'm going to agree with that. Granted sometimes they do have something worth knowing, other times it's just shock value at someone elses household.

Dentistry is expensive, but then so is fixing your car or motorbike when you fuck the motor from lack of maintainence.
Most people don't grasp the concept of preventative care - flossing, brushing and regular dental check-ups.
What might be a small filling will turn into an extraction or root canal if ignored for a couple of years.
Of course there are people that can't afford it - there are also people who would spend the money on other things - which is fine, but don't lie and get the treatment done if you have no intention of paying.
I work in a dental surgery as a practice manager, I am open to working out payment options BEFORE treatment, not 6 months after I have been asking for payment!
If people really believe that not paying is okay, then dentists will be forced to ask for payment up front and how ridiculous is that!
