    from the Methven Thunder facebook

The Methven Lions Club and CAMS (Classic Action Motorcycle Sports (SI) Inc) wish to advise that the Methven Mountain Thunder Motorcycle Street Race held annually at Easter for the previous 8 years will no longer be continuing.
The decision to no longer run the event has been mutally agreed by the Methven Lions Club and CAMS.
For a variety of reasons CAMS and Methven Lions now wish to focus their volunteer efforts and man-power on new opportunities within both of their organisations.
Methven Mountain Thunder would not have been possible without the support of the many sponsors, MNZ officials, flag marshals, CAMS members, riders, committee members and volunteers, also the Methven community and associated businesses. We thank everyone that has contributed to the event.

sad to see a street race go, i can understand why tho, thanks to all those that made it happen,

...now I've seen hot but not to the point where the COC told me that all 19 horses that my clutch unleashed on the start line spun my tyres to the point that I thought I had her in 2nd and she was bogging down...fuck that was hot stuff...didn't seem to stop James Hoogie making the big differential between his Triumph and the RSV Aprilia seem inconsequential though...thanks team...you were hot too...fucked a good set of tyres though...was drifting through the sweeper and I'm not cut out for that on a 350Four...
