    I think it may be clockwise on front sprocket??

    Yeah that's what I want to know, Can't find it anywhere in the manual so don't really want to force it the wrong way.

    Finished my assignment so off to bed

    Have you tried either a) getting a decent size -ie 1/2 inch drive - socket and a 3 foot length of pipe for leverage , or
    b) applying a fair bit of heat -d'ya know anyone with welding kit?
