Was that a free load or a free bloody forest?

Awhile back a mate asked if i needed any firewoodnot about to turn it down weeeks later we are still at it with many more loads to come. Its turned into a weekly thing with the 3 of us heading away, its only a 1/2 hour drive there and theres a log splitter supplied, bit embarrassing really as all we have to do is cut it into rings and split away.Few pics fwiw.

LOL!! My mate called me a couple of days ago with some free fire wood. A big pine has been felled across the road & sawn into rings, lovely me thinks. We load the trailer to the point of collapse, get home & unload. It's a mighty pile!
Any hoo, mate gives me his splitter, big axe thingy & I go to work on it. It must be a bloody a rubber tree, the splitter just bounces. arse, feck, vank!
    Fire wood- free
    Hydraulic splitter - $100
Feeling like a skinny useless pratt - Priceless

Nice looking HQ in the pics Mike. We've paid $230 for split firewood in the past month & I'm starting to think electrickery might be a cheaper option to heat our home. That said there's nothing quite like the warmth from a log burner

Who would have thought firewood could be so interesting to photograph and document.

If you have to buy wood, then the electricity used by a heat pump will be cheaper than wood. No question.

I used to "buy" my firewood from the IHC. $50 for enough wood to see me through winter. The best bit... watching them come and deliver it. Stacked piece by piece, by a bunch of wonderful people. Funniest part was watching one of the guys "unloading" the trailer, he was randomly throwing it in the air

Dont! Just dont. He put a cushion on the office chair, lovely and soft

You have heard of whoopie cushions eh? Well this one is a "fart" cushion. Holds the aroma for ages

Innocently go to sit down and get the distinct aroma of Maha gas

Sucks to be him tonight, without being too crude, he may be getting a little surprise himself when he sits down here next
