I dunno, on the one hand energy storage can be up to fuck all since it is all used anyway; on the other, if it buffers demand and infrastructure load it will be of some use. I think he might have more luck just putting inverters in the cars so they can buffer it, if the batteries are good for that.

Yep, at least I think it may be a step in A direction.

What kind of raping of the earth is required to produce the batteries? If it is worse than what is already happening, then I guess It is a step backwards?

Exciting times none the less.

Once they nail down a clean battery, it'll be all good. But I think lithium is a bit damaging to the environment. Although a lot of the raping is simply due to the energy consumed in manufacturing (as is true for most things); start at the source and focus on green power production is the step in the Right direction imo.
