UN fears third leg of the global financial crisis - with prospect of epic debt defaults ...

"Its prescription is radical. The world must jettison neo-liberal ideology, and launch a "global new deal" with a blitz of investment on strategic sectors. It wants a return of the "developmental state", commanding a potent industrial policy, and backed by severe controls on capital flows.".

Awesomeness... at least they have a plan

    Meh. UN radical communism pamphlet.

From which the critical defining character emerges as: "UNCTAD's manifesto of Left-wing proposals clashes with almost every nostrum taught in universities and business schools for the last two generations."

No wonder Blighty ditched the parasites.

    Solutions for what?

Rampant improvements in standards of living?

    Ongoing real wage growth?

The huge decrease in child mortality?

Plummeting cost of fuel, clothing, etc?

50% reduction in the numbers living in actual poverty?

Proliferation of cheap gadgets Star Trek told us wouldn't be here for centuries?

    Increased leisure time?

Whiny arsed cunts that haven't got a fucking clue how easy they have it?

Yeah, the price of all of that... seasonably adjusted of course. You seem to think that those so called improvements haven't come at any cost... that and we coulda done it all so much earlier and so much better. You're easily appeased, and whilst I have a weird respect for that, I also have a healthy disdain for it too.

So just how are the non-capitalist countries going? What about communes and other 'money free' or at least 'money light' groups?

There are no non-capitalist country's. Although Auroraville seems to still be rockin.

I called them improvements 'cause that's what they are. Only an insufferable doomsayer would say otherwise. Oh, except the clueless whiney arsed cunts, they're no use to man nor beast. And the funny thing is, the easier life gets the more they whine.

Well yeah, we could have had all that as soon as specialisation and capitalism were adopted by advanced societies.

And disdain is about all you've got. It ain't healthy. It don't differentiate. And you can fucking keep it.

I don't where they're completely unsustainable in their current format. We can do better and you're damned straight that I'll whine about things not being as good as they could be. Most rational people would.
