Was that the business lobby blaming the greens for BAU? . Priceless. Let's have a look at what the Greens, and by default us, are actually up against in terms of the mess that left and right and the business lobby are ignoring coz free market.

Yeah, big ask innit... and as a Green govt haven't had the same leeway as the other mob yet, and given that we're fucked given our current overshoot data (among other things) under the left right BAU ideology, maybe the greens are on to something re: the BAU that's actually doing the damage, and not the rhetoric that denies the greens a crack. But sure, go ahead and blame a party that has never been in the driving seat of power for the business environment that is actually destroying the planet. Oh, and just in case anyone fancies getting their hopes up and starts with ye olde "oh the planet will be fine, we'll be fucked". Consider that there'll be no humans around to maintain our nuclear power plants or nuclear weapons arsenal etc... The plant doesn't support life very well under those conditions it seems.

I have found that F. William Engdahl has been an interesting social and political
commentator for at least the last 10 years:

If you are looking for a book on major social and political events since the mid 1980's,
can I suggest his latest book "Manifest Destiny: Democracy as Cognitive Dissonance"
(despite its unusual title) as a good read.

While I had read about many of the events he addresses, he provides a good level
of detail. Only 220 pages, and in very readable format.
