If what you said was true, that these ideas were 'more and more popularity over your own' - then that would imply a greater number of people hold them, when compared to my Beliefs. If that was true, then spreading these ideas would be profitable. Seeing as it is demonstrably unprofitable - then that shows the Popularity lies with those that are against your beliefs.
