Hopefully as a bit product of the tragedy unfolding in Eastern Europe people will realise the folly of green energy. Not mentioned in the article is that global shipping companies could decide not to stop here at all. As carbon taxes increase it will get to point where it’s not economical for them to come here.
You already see this on a micro scale where airlines pull out of certain domestic routes
But just remember folks sustainability means something a whole lot different to those pushing it. It’s a code word that really means Shutdown so they can restart their brave new world. They care not if a few billion starve to death in process.

Green (renewable) energy is a large topic on its own, and it's interesting to watch what's been unfolding both in Europe and the US. I'll reserve comment.

Re shipping and air freight, attach links for a couple of old articles outlining some of the challenges being faced (local onshore and international shipping).

These situations will have been accentuated by more recent action due to (i) global economy - exit from covid (ii) China covid treatment and port congestion (ii) US port congestion.

Even if in jest... When Trump suggested that the Californian forest fires were happening because Californians didn't sweep the forest floor. (He was preumably also ignorant of the fact that some of the fires were in National parks which meant that ultimately he was responsible.)

What really odd is someone else took up the mantle of weird totally out there conspiracy theorist with that goes into total denile when they are shown to be wrong.
I guess they were not consumed then by the fact then for the last 6 years they had a leftie woman in charge.
But instead of the Jews they blame the Muslims, lefties, feminist, anfata, blm.

This is an old story - but it's very very interesting reading the interaction between the testing engineer and the ChatBot. There are some points where it's getting close to 'Intelligent' and some parts where you could ask it about Morals.

Well, the engineer had only been sent home "on gardening leave", but he has apparently now been formally fired.

Given that it has recently proven possible to synthesise a verbal response (using fragments of an individual's speech) - and now we can potentially have a "meaningful conversation", I wonder how long it is before we hear a "synthetic conversation" generated between two individuals that have never formally communicated with one another. Not that that capability would ever be mis-used.

I find it curious in the article - it doesn't mention what got her banned - it mentions Covid-19 Misinformation - but doesn't mention the actual tweet.


Curious.

Because the Tweet that got her banned was critical of Gender Affirming therapy for Children. Making the point (albeit crudely) that Gender Affirming therapy in Children leads to Social Transition that in the majority of cases leads to taking Puberty Blockers/Hormones which will in most cases lead to sterility and a whole host of medical problems.

And when, for example, Gender Affirming policies lead to a 4000% increase in the number of Children with Trans issues (especially among young girls and girls with Autism), any rational person might say 'Hold up - is this naturally occuring, or are these children seeing the adulation that their peers get and the special treatment they get and say "I want to be special too!"'


There is something rather insidious about old people with regrets trying to validate their life choices by vicariously making children suffer and undergo unnatural medical procedures.
