Nah, activists and govts are also concerned with survival of sentient beings, some form of homeostasis and various other things that are more than obviously existing as issues that aren't being addressed. Freedom of movement affects everyone and everything... and if that movement is unsustainable, then it might be an idea to address that instead of saying, hey guys there's a fucktonne of untapped wealth everywhere we just need the rights, as some form of solution.

There is the classic leftist problem. They are obsessed with others being more successful out of their chosen actions instead of just seeing the greater good those actions created.
Fossil fuels and the Industrial Age was responsible for humanity going from 2 billion to 7 billion in a short time frame thanks to easy food production and transport of food.
And the rate of technological advance during that time thanks to the numbers game, a bigger population will naturally result in a few extra smart people in the mix
