WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump portrays the hundreds of people arrested nationwide in protests against racial injustice as violent urban left-wing radicals. But an Associated Press review of thousands of pages of court documents tells a different story.
Very few of those charged appear to be affiliated with highly organized extremist groups, and many are young suburban adults from the very neighborhoods Trump vows to protect from the violence in his reelection push to win support from the suburbs.
Some defendants have driven to protests from out of state. Some have criminal records and were illegally carrying weapons. Others are accused of using the protests as an opportunity to steal or create havoc.
But many have had no previous run-ins with the law and no apparent ties to antifa, the umbrella term for leftist militant groups that Trump has said he wants to declare a terrorist organization.
Even though most of the demonstrations have been peaceful, Trump has made “law and order” a major part of his reelection campaign, casting the protests as lawless and violent in mostly Democratic cities he says have done nothing to stymie the mayhem

The state representatives in Wyoming introduced a new clause to the state constitution to make it easier to ignore The Affordable Care Act: (a) Each competent adult shall have the right to make his or her own health care decisions. The parent, guardian or legal representative of any other natural person shall have the right to make health care decisions for that person.
Recently in line with other Republican controlled states they introduced a ban on abortions. A judge has now told them they can't do that.

Meanwhile in Utah which has introduced a system for people to complain about books they disapprove of in school libraries. Books about LGBT people, black people, or possibly about penguins or sea horses*. A complaint has been received about a book containing all manner of perverse behaviour. Yep, it's the bible. The complaint is receiving consideration.
*There is a children's book about two male penguins who adopt an egg or some such. No, I haven't read it. A book on sea horses has been banned in Tennessee because it's the male that 'gives birth' and that doesn't fit with their notion of what is acceptable.
