A treat for our resident "humans are not causing climate change" affectionado.
The BBC have been having a bad run. Politicians appointing mates to the board and recurring sex scandals among the problems. Now one more of the latter.
The BBC have confirmed the details as reported but have not named the presenter. The British national sport it now seems is posting on social media the name of whichever presenter has pissed you off lately as being the perv. It's hard to say how this should be handled but it might be that there's a better way than just having all their top presenters being accused.
This report has most of the details except the gender of the kid - and the name of the presenter of course.

Awhile ago I posted some Green Party madness in here thinking they didn’t do dumb shit often enough (well not new dumb shit) to warrant their own thread…
However they are going for gold now…. Buckle up this one’s a doozy.
The greens want to undo the historic 2008 treaty claims deadline you know where national paid out billions for a “ final “ settlement so we could move forward as a nation.
They also want private land to be subject to claims with the crown/Maori getting first rights when it comes up for sale… what could possibly go wrong here..,.
I guess with labour and national selling out and going green stealing g their thunder they need to steal votes from the Maori party.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out as it’s likely many green voters could be wealthy pakeha living in remote scenic coastal areas that are prob former Maori lane areas. You’ve just spent mega bucks on your off grid solar hideawsy now it’s up for grabs

On FOX "News" Jesse Waters has now officially taken over Tucker Carlson's "white power hour" time slot. Apparently in the US it's not unusual for the station to have the proud mum call in to the show. This time it did not go quite as expected. It started with the proud mum bit then this...

What she said was right on point about not talking about other peoples bodies . Something for others to remember when they talked about Trump too maybe? There were plenty of comments on his skin colour, hand size and whether you could see he wore adult diapers or not under his suit pants.
Or is what is good for the goose also good for the gander? For the record I find comments from anyone criticising how other people look to be classless, even when I myself may have done it.
I believe that comment is in reference to the current Republican obsession with matters transgender. This has puzzled me, they are treating it as a major problem, but how many trans people can there be? In my entire life I've seen two in this town. OK, I'd guess there are more in Karangahape Road or in downtown Wellington. To listen to the Republicans though you could get the impression that their country is over run with them.
It's not like they are the ones molesting kids either, it's the church leaders who tend to be Republicans. It seems like more than one a week in the news lately, either interfering with kids or being caught with a stash of kiddie porn.

Ah good point, I had missed that reference, I figured that it was regarding attacks on Biden.
I attended a private christian school, solely for its academic rating at the time, nothing to do with religion. Two of the more prominent heads of that school, both of whom would regularly lecture us on moral standards were found to be living in glass houses, one having an affair with an international teacher he had worked hard to bring to New Zealand 'for the betterment of the school', the second found himself in jail for child molestation...
You’re likely 100% correct in that assessment Pritch.
The problem is this small minority for some unknown reason tends to gravitate towards educational professions and govt jobs where they can overly influence young minds and public policy.
There’s so few of them yet this govt in this country made a law banning conversion therapy. Digest that for a moment… there are so few of them yet if one of them decides they want to change their mind and go back the other way again it’s ILLEGAL to offer them assistance in that journey. Think of the mental health trauma someone in that situation would be going through and it’s illegal to help them.
There’s so few of them major movie companies and other big business are investing pro rainbow money well out of proportion to the market share of the audience revenue value. It’s almost like there’s a worldwide conspiracy to completely deconstruct the traditional family unit.

Sadly this is more of an expectation than an outrage.
My personal involvements with catholic priests was limited to one, on one day, in less than 5 minutes. He didn't know me but immediately started feeling me up. I was 7 and had no idea what was going on and it wasn't even until years later that I figured out what had happened. And since then, given the propensity for priests to be paedos and the church to enable them I have ZERO regard for priests, their rotten churches and the whole farcical catholic religion in general.
If you are a member of the catholic club, sorry for offending you but seriously, get a better religion.
Long story short, catholic priests I have met, 100% paedos.
