Your argument may be based on a false premise. The state of Mississippi is ranked fiftieth for life expectancy in the "greatest nation on earth." It ranks equal with Bangladesh. Despite all the advantages of mechanisation and USA financial muscle, Mississippi has no better life expectancy than a country where farmers have only limited mechanical resources.
