Shapeshifting lizards. Stupid man. They are called Chameleons.
I don't know what a Jew is, but it sounds aquatic and slimy. Or am I thinking of Eels?

    Grapes ?

That's always a possibility, but perfume is much more personal.

My wife has some particularly good perfume. We've been married
36 years, and she has always said "one dab of this behind each
ear, and it'll knock you flat. As good as dead". And that's her
ears, not mine, by the way. Just for clarity sake.

Actually, now that I re-read the above, that's an unfortunate
choice of words. This English language is so difficult.

So you may be right. Stick to grapes.

Mind you, I'd try and avoid any late harvest grapes. Just the
mere hint of botrytis, and it'll just probably just start another
    Screwball, er Skripal, saga.

    Cheers,
    Viking

    Customs Powers

Must have missed reading about these new powers earlier:

    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-...o-rights-zones

And if they are documented within the Customs website,
I for one struggled to find them spelt out visibly and clearly:

    Human Rights

Even though the US "home team" have bailed out of the UNHRC, it's good
to see some stalwarts like John Brennan and Lindsay Graham standing up
and being counted re human rights.

    Lesson for Today

In some ways, I'm glad that I'm not a learner rider learning to ride a motorcycle again.

Have just gotten back for a wee toddle over to and around the Wairarapa. A perfect
day to be out riding, and plenty of other riders out.

But I have to say there are some ar$ehole drivers about, when it comes to showing
    some consideration for learner riders.

Leaving Greytown (heading to Featherston), I happened to catch up with two riders,
one on a new machine (clearly signed as a learner rider, and following an experienced
rider). I followed them for some distance, and while the learner rider was riding fairly
well and keeping up a steady pace, some of the car drivers catching up to her ended
up driving right up her exhaust pipe before passing.

And one clearly gave her a bit of a scare as he overtook just at the Featherston end
of the passing lane south of Tauheranikau, and made the return back in front of her
    fairly close.

"B#gger this", I thought, "it's tough enough to learn to ride, without having to worry
about such idiots". So I pulled in and rode behind her, positioned far enough out that
drivers should have been able to see she was present and a learner, that "we were
riding in a group", and that I was riding TEC. That way, they concentrated more on
    me, and less on her.

And she did well, going up and over the Rimutakas and down SH2 as far as Melling
Bridge (where they both turned off).

Even then, there were still two car drivers on River Road and Western Hutt Road
(two lane going south) that decided quite late they wanted to turn off - and they
clearly thought about interposing them-self between the two of us in the left lane
(but who ended up just slowing right down and tucking in behind me, where there
was still plenty of space). Damned if I know what was going on in their heads.

I am always thankful for having studied History for a few years at high school.
For even though it was limited in scope, it still opened up my view to what was
happening in the wider world and stimulated a life long interest.

I wonder how much "history" is being taught at schools these days, and what
will constitute a historical record in 10-20 years time.
