    Tune up

My KLX 450 has been running like a dog recently from refusing to idle to refusing to start. I had the valves checked - no problems only 1 reshimmed so over the weekend I pulled the carburettor out and cleaned the jets using bits of guitar strings. The top (fat) E string did the job reaming out the main jet and mostly I used the A string for the rest of the orifices. Bottom E was perfect for the tiny holes in the pilot jet.
I put it all back together (not finding any spare bolts) and hooked it all up - a real bugger of a job with everything so tight within the frame. After 4 kicks she fired up making beautiful music and idling away like nothing had ever been wrong.
I think the DR will be next - should I use Bass strings?

If you got shit in the carb make sure you flush the tank and inspect air filter for any tears. It go in there some how.

Also if any of the carb overflow and breather lines get blocked from going through a bog the bike will also run bad.
