    GB400tt information required

i have just re-vinned the GB and using as a daily commute,

shes got new brakes, tyres, swing arm bushes and going fairly well however im after a manual such as a haynes manual etc.

Id like to rebuild the motor but i understand from reading previous threads and google searches that the motor is not the same as the GB500.

Can anyone offer info on the motor and how its similar to the xr400\xl400 motors or are they not the same?

which after market big bore kits etc are available for my motor etc.

ideally id like to rebuild it myself but am open to assistance from persons who have actually built a few of these motors up or have done engine swaps etc.

    definitive concise help appreciated

Doesn't need a big-bore. GB400's go quite well stock. Photgraphic evidence attached.Click image for larger version.

They're the same. Slightly shorter stroke and smaller bore is all.

There was a long thread on a forum called thumperpage that went into this. If I recall correctly, the 500 will take XR650 piston and top end, the 400 needs machining - the piston skirt and crankcases.

Unfortunately that site was taken down so all that stuff was lost.
