Word of the day is graupel...which is that stuff that looks like the polystyrene balls you put in "beanbags".

Yeah, new on me too, wonder if it's one of the 300 words for snow that the Lapps have?

This global warming is such a bastard.

I have wandered around today at work with bare arms, quite enjoying the cold to be honest. Saw a bit of sleet on my way to work this morning, but it has been clear and fine since. Wind is friggen COLD though, Brrrrr.

There have been reports of snow in Warkworth of all places. The son of a woman I work with text her to say it was snowing where he was (on a farm just out of town) Pity it does not stick up here, nothing, but nothing beats freshly fallen snow to play in.

We got woken up last night, well I should rephrase that actually. I woke up shrieking last night with the loudest clap of thunder I have ever heard. It had to have been directly over head, and was followed by the most intense rain.

I am a storm lover, have been known to get up and watch storms, go walking in them, that type of idiot.

I am glad though the wind appears to have dropped, it stops our gas heating flue from working properly and the thing goes into safety mode

Keep warm down there you lot. Make me a snow angel and post up the piccys.

It was the wind this morning that made me a little nervous.

You not have chains like we do down here?

I did get caught in snow once. I finished up riding dead straight and then when I had to change direction would stop and then VERY slowly and smoothly point myself in the new direction and then move off. I'm thinking I'll be off work again tomorrow but perhaps be on the good old 'one wheel drive' and try to get in on Wednesday afternoon.
