The 'looser building codes' and 'few restrictions on weapons' cracks me up. I wouldn't give an artificial island in international waters adhereing to those policys very good odds for longeivity

Finally, we might start seeing some supervillians with their own man made islands. Hollywood's been promising it for years.

Depends on the super-ness of the villain, if he is just going to drown along with all his henchmen, then no, probly still not good policies.

Looser building standards means less pokey building inspectors coming in, ergo less chance of them finding your nukes and other weapons of mass destruction. Being a supervillain, you'd spend the good money having it built properly.

The British gummint talked about turning de-commissioned oil rigs in the North Sea into prisons but came up against human rights detractors.

The only difference I can see here with cause & effect would be the number of toys available to the inmates.

Whats the old saying.... " no man is an island"

More realistic in the future are island cities, fenced off & protected from the millions of starving & diseased poor, mutants & zombies. Sounds familiar. Any 2000 AD fans here?

I don't think a super villain would have their concept on yahoo. Mike Myers would though.

Well, if they take the current monetary system with them they are doomed to more of the same, nothing will change!

http://www.libertarianz.org.nz/ ... here have got some good policies but their dreams will never eventuate because their brand of capitalism is dependent on current orthodox finance !

They spend most of their time back patting and preaching to each other, "the converted", rather than getting out and selling their message! IMHO

No no no. These 'countries' are for sale. Right. So Mr Supervillain simply buys one of these said 'countries'. Peter Thiel is not the supervillain. Well that depends on your views relating to Paypal and FaceBook.

If they all get islands, who's going to look after all the books?
