Wink Forgot I was in the car

I tend to get a bit frustrated by drivers that wont obey the speed limits imposed upon us.

Why are you in the fast lane of the motorway doing 85kph FFS!

What are you doing overtaking these trucks at 90kph and rapidly running out of room, WANKER!

    That sort of thing.

So today I found myself behind a string of cars in the fast lane doing well under the speed limit. There was a big length of empty lane in the slow lane. So I indicated and changed lanes. Without even getting to 100 kph I came up to the next car in the lane. It was going about as fast as the cars I had just passed. Next to me, a a bit behind, was the car that was holding up the traffic. I indicated (there was room to change lanes, but I like to give people a bit of warning I am changing lanes eh) and waited for the gap to increase to give me more space. And I waited, and I waited. Nope, Ms Oblivious to anything around her was busy puttering along at the same speed as the traffic in the slow lane doing a grand job of holding people up.

So I got a bit closer to the car in front of me, and then he braked Being accustomed to Millie I simply flicked to the right and straightened up as you do. That was when I realised I was actually in the car

Haha when you indicate before changing lanes you are doing just that notifying fellow road users of your intended change.
You are not requesting permission to change...

Dear GOD what the fuck is WRONG with people?

Honestly though, the worst I experience are the just over limit drivers that clip along on the motorway, and then lose all confidence once the street lights go out. We live rurally, there are no street lights, get used to it folks. The road is the same at night as it is in daytime. Infact I prefer the night time in one way, you get to see oncoming traffic around corners, via their head lights.

Grinding along at less than 80 and braking for the corners irritates the shit out of me. I over took a car tonight, going down the Pohuehue Viaduct. Two lanes heading south, and me heading norf, behind a car going downhill braking at 80kph. I lit past it without breaking the speed limit, though may have gathered a bit of speed up after I overtook

Where is Plod when you need them? I see some terribly inconsiderate driving behaviour out and about.

    Where are you exactly ?
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Attempting to filter to the front of the queue is an absolute bastard in a car.

I really must buy a snowplough attachment for the front...

I love these guys; I think they are the same that do 110 when they reach the passing lanes.

I have to drive a lot but having been on the bike has taught me so much more about keeping an eye on other traffic.
I may be slow at getting things but..... no wait I'm just slow.

if cunts do that to me I tailgate them and flash my lights at them until they move out of the way. they don't have to ask for permission, and likewise, i don't need to be polite. my favorite thing to do is as soon as there is room past the slower truck/horse float, especially if they are fucking around and being slow to pull back into the left lane, pass them on the left and give them the blow-job tongue in cheek action - most people find that really offensive lol.

try pulling into the fast lane in the middle east, or throughout europe - cars will be flahing lights and honking at you from 1/2 a mile away as they bear down on you at 250-300km/h.

I think the worse place is coming into Wellywood ... from Otaki down, there are those passing lanes, which end up being the great Otaki races. Everyone plants their foot down so no-one can actually overtake without going even faster!

Old grannies turn into lead footed hoons, truck drivers suddenly think their vehicle is a Ferarri, motorbikers think they are Stoner/Rossi, cyclists think they are motorbikes ... you get the idea!

Then as soon as the lanes merge, everyone goes back to their own indignant driving/riding style!

I just turn into the lane if I've made my intention quite clear for long enough. Whether they brake to avoid a collision or not is their business. Last happened to some coon following a paddy wagon down Harper Ave... he wouldn't let me in, so I just went in. Fucking funny watching him rage out, but what was he gonna do.... ram my shitty car in front of a police officer? Pwned

    There in lies the rub.
So many threads here are about oblivious / self absorbed / don't give a shit road users.
A recent thread posted by an officer was about exactly this, somebody obstructing the flow of traffic & getting pulled as a consequence. I have never seen anybody attract police attention on the motorway for this behaviour & it's probably the most dangerous place to do it causing undertaking & all the risks that come with it.
We need a new TV campaign " Filter left Fuckwit"

Heading north over the bridge, I was overtaking a slow car, she then just pulls in front of me (doing about 70) with very late indication and a gap of about 100m to van in front of her.
I tooted to let her know i was there but she fails to speed up, on the down grade the van behind me overtakes both of us but at the corner she crosses into the next lane forcing him to take action. i overtake her and show her my displeasure with a few hand signals, forgetting i am in the company car.

She phones up the next day telling me how bad my driving was and when i pointed out her faults she didn't believe she had done anything wrong and had the right to drive in any lane she wanted.

Go figure why the roads are like they are.
