    You will be doing a lot more km's than you think. It is 160km to Whangarei and then another 80 or so to Kerikeri. The mangamuka smile will make you forget that tho!

    ...recommend riding through to Russell itself for a break and check out NZ's first capital city too. it's only an extra 5mins after the ferry turn off..

    I rode back from Kawakawa to Haruru at 6pm last night. I had nipples like Chapel hat pegs when I got home. I hope you were off the road before the sun went down. Brrrrrr. I'm getting soft.

    I was a tad jealous of Moms heated grips this morning...not alot, just a tad..
    Tough Harley rider at Paparoa took his gloves off and rested them against his 'now hot' metal bits..I must admit to holding onto more than the grips at times myself..

    got back safe n sound! Thank you for help end up doing 640 kms instead

    Day 1 sat: Akl - kerikei - rawene harbour ferry - kohukohu - umawera- keri keri

    day 2 sun : Kerikeri - opua (ferry)- rusell -(got lost) manawaora - purekura bay - helena bay - whakapara - akl

    640 kms + monday sick day

    nz roads are sweet!
