take it and make it yours!
organise something! post it up on the internets (here, bookface, other boards tweeter....)
people will come. ride will be ridden. mission accomplished and game: on
but srsly, what with all the damn harleys?!
lmfao.
wait for a day when it's not too windy. pick your lane well before getting on. stay clear of 4x4s.
there's nothing to it.
practice sis!
city riding is shit. the only good bit is lane splitting up to stop lights etc past miles-long car queues.
and speaking of this. forgive me if it's been answered or in another thread (i haven't searched) but is there a shadow-program going on anywhere in NZ... where people can sign up to follow n00bs on their bikes, imparting wisdom, and being paid beer.
and n00bs can sign up to be followed to buy beer and receive wisdom?
I do I just got a bike. I've done a bit of practice in a carpark and I'm aiming to get my learners in the midsemester break (after exams).
Once I've got that, I'd be really keen to get in as much practice as possible cause I'll need the confidence to commute into the city.
As for the first question - 21 living on the North Shore
Im sure if you asked nicely a couple of local riders would convoy you over and back.
If you want I will ask about to see if any shore based riders can help out, if not then Im sure I can come up one evening to help.
Its not at all hard. In fact probably one of the easiest sections of road in Auckland. Everybody is going the same way.
