Quick dumb question about chains

Hi, its time to replace the chain on my Hyobag (2008 GT250R). Stock chain is 520 pitch x 112 links.

I have been looking at EK, RK and Regina (or is it vagina?) chains and aiming for an O-ring or X-ring which ever is cheapest. So which chain do you get best bang for buck? I have seen, on trademe, EK (O-ring) and RK (O-ring) chains for ~$100. Is one better than another?

Probably very similar. Check your sprockets because if your chains stuffed your sprockets probably are too and a new chain on worn sprockets wont last very long.

Chain differences like X rings and O rings etc etc dont make that much of a dramatic difference in a low powered bike like a 250, they make alot of difference on for example a thou and yah, a good idea is to change your sprockets when you change the chain as well

Not quite true. On a thou a couple of hp more drag is barely noticeable, where as on a high hp machine like a hyobung it'll nearly halve the available power!
Go with an x-ring, less drag. In fact, on something like that I'd seriously consider a non-o ring chain, even less drag, and they still last quite well if ya keep 'em lubed up properly. And they're cheaper to buy.

Just go into your local bank and get one of the chains they use to secure their pens to the desks.

That boils down to how you ride & how well you maintain the chain.

replace the chain with worn out sprockets? you'll simply ruin the chain... which will then screw up the new sprockets quickly....

Do them all at the same time or you're chucking money down the drain.
O-rings and X-rings will last longer if you are slack with maintenance, not much difference between them.
Non o-ring chains are generally lighter and drag less, followed by x-rings and o-rings last.
Non o-rings are the cheapest, followed by o-rings and x-rings generally being dearer.
For all the smartasses, this is a generalisation, of course there are variables.

On a smaller bike if it were mine I'd save a couple of bucks and free up a couple of hp by fitting a fairly light non o-ring and new sprockets.
