Not too many cars make me drool, this did

Whilst in town today came across this on a promotional disply, very nice indeed.Did however have a chuckle when whilst taking a few pics had one of the blokes looking after it say to me "do you like our baby then" the gorse bush on top of his head held together with some kind of womens hair gel shit combined with the "look at me Elvis" collar thing put me off a tad and i politely said "if thats your baby its choking to death" as the air filter was in parts clogged up with shit.Took a few more pics and left him standing there looking at me blankly.Whilst i might be a bit piccy with such things in this case it was painfully obvious to anyone the filter was in dire need of attention.Beautiful example of one of Fords finest all the same.

I'm with you mate. There's something about those things even in kit form that is just "right", although it'd be even more right if it had quad webbers instead of the Holley. Nice to see it looks used rather just a garage queen.

I love those gt 40s, it could be a real one, there is one up Auckland ways. I had a real good look at it the last beach hop, Whangamata (or maybe the beach hop before) and talked to the owner. And it was a genuine gt40, with a hand built dry sump 427 (i think, my memory is always a bit hazey) rebuilt by the shelby factory, had a couple of vivid scribbles on it, by some dude ive never heard of, Carol Shelby i recall. Same dude owned a Detomaso Pantera parked next to it.
Not saying that is the same car, but there is at least one real one in good old NZ

ALtho this one does not look 100% like the one i saw, that had a much neater engine bay.

So that's where that thing was heading.....saw it on the road heading south a week or so back Bit of a WTF moment seeing it in amongst a group of other cars as they went past . Looked like the perfect mid-life crisis vehicle for the bottle blond fart that was behind the wheel

The car is touring CRT stores around the SI, as part of their Gulf Oil promotion.

Looks like the engine top cover breather is leaking into the air filter.

It has the right motor and period tyres, I like it.
Last one I saw had a SB-Chev in it. I'm a Chev fan, but, no. Just no!

yep, was at the last Beach Hop, there was something not 'right' with its engine or engine bay, can't remember what.
