Motleycbt125, Blake passed away at North Shore Hospital hdu on the 24th August aged 22 from a 5 day fight with Pneumonia.
At Blake's funeral we had a few smiles pondering back to when he first started riding and his journey with motorcycles. He started on a little slow 125 bucket bike, if you'd seen him riding on the coast you'd know what im talking about. He was a big boy, and when one did see Blake from behind you just knew that there was a huge smile on the other side.
At the traffic lights he would red line the rev counter whilst doing a 'cool running's to take off on a green light, what I mean is he would do a 10 meter flintstone sprint until he would go fast enough for him to put his feet up. Sometimes he would spontaneously pass me then take his feet off the stand and pretend he's running. I remember when he would flap his arms out like a bird on the open road, it was his way of expressing himself and he loved it. Although he barely puttered along he was content and happy.
In Hospital when Blake was highly sedated the Nurses told us, 'who is to say he cant hear us. So we talked to him about everything under the sun. We needed his stats to come up so I talked to him about giving my bike as a present and we could go for a trip of New Zealand and route 66 in America, his oxygen levels and blood pressure went up at a rate we couldn't believe. I know that somewhere in their he knew.
The biker community had been so helpful to Blake, this my family are grateful. Keep on riding, keep on doing what your doing, motorcycles can create strong bonds that last till the end.
