Looks too wide in the valley for a small block & has the opposite taper at the ends of the tappett covers for small block & not shaped right for cleveland heads (but I have been known to be wrong before.
Best heads I have seen for a small block were the Gurney Eagle / Gurney Westlake ones I sold to Keith Simpson for his NZ1 stock car many moons ago.
Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow arent just the 4 cycles of an engine
Yea, that kuda is sweet, and its getting and extreme rebuild at the mo, all done by my mate himself. Chassis connectors, seam welded, extra bracing everywhere, removable roll cage, angry as 440 being dropped in with 4spd manual, hochkiss suspension, fibreglass guards and bonnet. just to name a couple of the mods being done, then finished in grey primer.......sooooo cool, love it

Yep those 71ish mopars have a nice rear end, and i like the "goofy" front. Have you seen the yellow 71 road runner in auckland with the 605 alloy Hemi in it? its bad ass, over 900hp.
Our next car is planned to be a 69 coronet/super bee clone, or66/ 67 satelite/gtx (altho they didnt make gtx in 66, but that wouldnt stop me from making one) Altho ive started to get a thing for motorcycles that is getting in the way of the car at the mo!!
Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which i desire
We're talking looks, not practicality... lmao No ONE could ever accuse a Cobra of being practical, it was always 'designed' to be an out and out sledgehammer when pitted against other cars...I mean hell almost 50yrs on and the original AC's are STILL one of the fastest accelerating vehicles on the road,,,, not bad for an old 'un

Ahahahahahahaahahahahahahah, that's a good one.... a 427 can't crack even 10 seconds to 100mph, without a roof or any sort of creature comforts!

I got bored after the 8 second cars.... Still one of the fastest accelerating vehicles on the road my arse... there's six there twice as fast.
They must be able to stop fuckin' fast then.
0 to 100 and back to zero in 13 seconds means it takes 3 seconds from 160kph to a standstill - without hitting a wall or U-turning cop car.
Not bad eh!
Mind you they were only a 12.5 second 1/4 mile car - I guess with traction control and stickier tyres they might whittle of another few 10th off.
I guess technology has given the other types and edge, I mean those 427 Cobra figures were here about 30+ years before a shitload of the cars you quoted..

Ah well, technology has passed it by eh!
Still, the Cobra is primo choice with the replica crowd - don't see too many replicas of the modern cars getting around, I guess the rawness and visceral appeal combined with an 'easy-to-work-on' build is what does it.
(IF I ever had to fix any of those trendy modern things I'd be stuffed- but a Cobra I could fix.)

The nicest Cobra I saw was Ken? Olsens FIA Replica 289 - exactly the same as the original, except he moved the rear bulkhead back 1/2 and inch so no one could say it was an original......
- He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.
