    Synthetic vs mineral oils

There are a lot of posts always asking "Synthetic vs Mineral oil" ... "Best oil for my bike" ... "Correct Viscosity" etc

I will use this thread to post some stuff I have, and make some comments based on what I know and what I beleive are factors governing the choice of correct oils.

I am an end user and have no affiliation with any oil company other than purchasing a large volumes of both mineral and specialty synthetic oils from Chevron/Texaco/Caltex and from Mobil

Attached are a couple of pdf files...
6E synthetics is a good document explaining the differences between synthetics and mineral oils. Click image for larger version.

CV1 is essentiall a sales blurp from Mobil for their Delvac1 synthetic...but has some good stuff.

There's a huge thread on a Ducati forum that goes through a heap of info about oil. Best thing I've read and I cannot find it again, was a lot written by an old dude who was an oil engineer or something.
