2007 is a worse model plus neither bike has extras. The 2006 636 is the best one out of those but if you wana get one of them for cheaper be my guest.
I think you'll find that they maybe being advertised for more but not selling that high. But hey, what would I know right?

How do you figure that? a 3 year old zx6r with mods and only 12 thou k's is certainly worth more than 8k. That is not a realist
I do not see how "realistically" a bike loses half its value in 3 years with 12 thou k's and mods...I understand that a bike loses value as soon as it's driven off the lot so to speak, but mods add value and with so few k's it was definitely worth more than 8k.
I agree with that for sure but Km's really mean sweet fuck all I'm afraid mate. It's about condition and the knowledge of the owner/s. The whole km's thing is one big naive preconceived notion that a grandma should rely on for a Toyota Echo; bike folk really should know better! I'd pick a 50,000km model over it in a second if the owner has got his head screwed on and is legitimate. Half the people with 600's don't know what grade oil you put in them or how many valves they've got... :s
Another thing that people seem to get confused about is that mods in fact do not add value- it's easy to assume they would but what is one person's taste is actually not the other's. Mods are money down the drain from a seller's perspective. A lesson only learnt the hard way.
Make sure you know your stuff and good luck with the sale. The 05/06 for sure spanks the 07 in every way.
...Full throttle till you see god, then brake.
Good point, however if the seller does know a thing or two about bikes and has well maintained the bike then the k's do come into consideration. I'd rather have a well maintained bike with 10thou k's on it then a well maintained one with 50thou... However I am not in a hurry to sell and the price reflects that.
Ok, I brought a brandnew ZX6R 5 months ago, from a dealer, who shipped it to the other end of the country, with 12 months rego and WOF, and a 2 year warrenty, and a tank of gas, for $3k more than you are asking for your old 636.
Or my brain damaged mate, who has just brought a mint MV Agusta Senna, with like 4000ks, for $20k. And they were something like over $70k new a couple of years ago.
Secondhand bikes arent worth as much as you think, especially if you want to sell one.
Realistic enough for you?
First of all I know how much this bike is worth and I know it is not as much as the price I put up mmmmkayyy. In case you havent noticed I am not in a hurry to sell, and would take an offer for it in the 10k mark. If I was in a hurry to sell I would have put it up at a reflective price.
Secondly, why on earth would you buy a new bike if you (being all realistic) know how much that bike is going to depreciate in value?
Well for me, it was because the 636 gearboxes seem to be made of cheese and dont take kindly to abuse, and after fucking 2 of them I was over splitting the engine cases and repalcing gears. So I got a good deal on a new one, with a warrenty, and a cassette gearbox. So when this one fucks out its less drama to fix.
And somebody has to buy new ones, otherwise there wouldnt be any secondhand ones would there?
And I know it will depricate alot in value, but that is life, in the real world.
