Thumbs up VMCC Round 4 - Mihi Banks (finally something went right!)

After a week of shit weather and snow I was having doubts about good weather for VMCC round 4.....but good old manfield kept it clear (but cold)!! Friday night it took dad and I a good 10 minutes to get the bike to go as the bike was so cold.

We got to the track on Saturday for the track day at about 7.30, I looked like a giant marshmellow. Anyway I unpacked everything, Signed my life away and got ready to have fun!! Moto Academy Steve gave us all a braking exercise to do for a couple of sessions, after doing this i found i could move my breaking markers more into the corner.

    Race day !!!
My aim for race day was to get down to low 40s and try beat Sue Forrest (#27 Mini Lite 250).

    Qualifying:
First class out for the day, and the track was cold! Oh well what has to be done has to be done. I Qualified last with a 1.51, it was alright.

    Race 1:
It was getting sunny, it was getting sunny My start was pretty good, I tried to keep up with Sue but she got away after a couple of laps damit. I did pretty good stayed upright, moved my breaking markers further up and did a 1.49, cool.

    Race 2:
Whoop Whoop, knocked 4 seconds of my last of 1.48. to 1.44!! If i keep this up every meeting I will be faster than my dad in no time. I hit neutral coming off the start line...again, I was reving the life out of my bike wondering why it wasnt going anywhere...duhh might help if it was in gear. I made up a bit of time and by the end of the race i was only 1 second off the back of the pack.

    Race 3:
This by far was the funnest of all 3 races today. I got a excellent start and kept up with the back racers for a few of the laps doing consistant 1.44s!! i was hunting down Sue for the whole race, I was right behind her about to pass whan she would speed off on the straights (I really need to work on my corner exit speed), in the end there was 1 tenth of a second seperating Sue and I, and I was 2 seconds off the mid pack.

Overall it was a pretty bloody good weekend, got down to low 40s started getting my knee down, and had a hell of alot of fun.

I would like to thank my sponsors and supporters: Wharfy, Ride Life, Motodynamix, Heidenau Tyres, ACR Fiberglass, Jeff Whitehead, and Moto Academy. Special thanks to Moto Academy Steve and Alex of Ride Life for your advice nd help through the weekend with my tyre pressures and speed.

You go girl! I've got a feeling your dad won't be smiling so much soon, and will be seriously looking over his shoulder, lol. Well done.

Knee down? Heck, my knee sliders are still new

Well done Mihi, you are really climbing that learning curve, and great to keep it upright!
You will be in the 1:30's in no time if you keep on doing what you are doing.

Mihi what more can l say to you other than....... YES you will 1 day very soon get past me and when you do it will be me chasing you down.
I was shocked to find out from you when l asked you were you were out there after we came in on our last Race as l thought that you must have gone back into the pits with bike trouble but that wasn't the case as you were right behind me.
Very impressed to hear that and also to hear of the time you got down to yesterday.
l'm sure that everything Steve Bagshaw is teaching you at the track is truely paying off and it shows every time you go out there.
Keep it going as you are doing extremely well in your 1st season of Racing and you will no doubt keep on improving the more you get out there.
Well Done Mihi and Goodluck in continuing to hunt me down and l look forward to Racing with you in the remainder 2 Rounds of this years VMCC Winter Season.
    Go Hard.
