I'd just buy a two stroke 250 and kick its ass well and truly.
my NSR250SP had 60hp and weighed considerably less than the bloaty Ninja with real brakes and suspension it would run rings around it. I sold it for just over $6k!
Top speed was 200+ dependant on gearing.

Speaking of which, my KR-1 was a parralel twin just like this ninja, except it did 195 (indicated) with fucked powervalves and scored barrels (due to mismatched rings) Maybe he figured out how to 2T a 4T. By a copious but strategic addition of powerbands would be my guess.

Out of all of the parallel twin 4T Kwaka 250's which is the fastest? I thought the late '80s GPX250's made more hp than these Ninja 250Rs. The GPX I rode back in the '80s then just did 165km/h and after 155km/h was a crawl for more speed !!

I also think my old 1985 tandem twin KR-250 would eat one of these alive too..before eating itself alive ..

Those tandem twins weren't at all picky with the relative crank angles right? Could get some intersting sounds out of them I would imagine.

the GPX250R with te twin front brakes, had circa 40-45hp, can't remember though, they're too shit.

Dyno sheet time, this must have been before the powerband got installed.

Yet again, my embed image failed, someone can fix it though.
Look at the massive power it has. It'll be giving Hyosung's a go!

My maths must crap because out of the nearly parallel power curves I'm trying to find 20% extra....

And yup Bogan, when you could tune them properly they went rather well. Getting the disc valves right and then modifying them worked well. I saw 190km/h indicated out of mine down a loooonnng straight of errr...umm "track"...
Prob more like 180km/h though. Still good for 1985 2T technology.
And they made a great sound with some aftermarket cans on the pipes.

Ooops, sorry,.. back to the Rossi-influenced 250R.

It's after the rebuild and there may be a 3hp gain at absolute max over stock, usually they're 24-25rwhp depending on altitude, dyno etc etc
