RSV4? Under 200KPH tapped in 4th? Dropped a 35K bike twice in 6 months?
More dollars than sense.

I think most of us on here drive and ride, im not saying how similar they are im saying that to race at a decent level in single seaters requires a certain skill set that can be translated to bikes. Look at Rossi in an F1 car test, he wasn't too far off the pace, or Schumacher who raced bikes quite successfully and has done laps on a GP bike at a pretty good pace.
I can drive and ride pretty well with plenty of trackdays on two and four wheels and while they drive/ride differently there are plenty of similarities in the mindset required.

Yo Mr DFV, If you want some tuition with your baby, just drop in to and see me, of course I will need to teach you how to do 2nd to top gear wheel stands and at least 3rd or 4th gear side ways drifts with it, O and Of course Huge stoppies on the motorway in front of traffic, YES it may hit the ground once or twice, but hey it looks like that has already happened any way bugger it.
Good on ya and have fun out there and be safe.

FFS you young guys seem to be argumentative for the sake of it! I'm not a fool mate, you seem to think i don't know that bikes have 2 wheels!
I am clearly not talking about racing lines! You obviously have no idea what I'm talking about so either go back and re-read the posts or just give up because I am!
I've been riding and driving for 25+ years, and I know the fundamentals are the same either way from my experience with both. Yes they are different but similar principles of feel and technique are involved in both forms. Plain and Simple and not hard to understand!

This post to me implied that because "he's done so much racing in his life" he wouldn't have dropped a brand new bike.
All I was saying was that there are a few things you have to learn when you make the switch to riding a bike. And not dropping the bloody things is one of them.
I wasn't arguing for the sake of arguing, you just seemed to make a comment on his bike ability based on his car ability. Which i thought was wrong.
EOF.
SimJen is correct. In a single seater you are pushing to the limit and throttle control is very important. Having driven winged cars, it is very important to feather the throttle through corners to keep the car balanced. Bikes are very similar.
And as far as dropping the bike, You don't know where the limit is until you have exceeded it. Parlane has not been racing.
Wonder where Rossi has gone. I was looking forward to the challange. Maybe it was the possibility of being beaten by a beginner that scared him off.
Rossi was banned. And you never said you dropped your bike at speed. People don't normally drop their bike at speed, it's normally called a lowside or a highside.
Also whos up for the my age challenge.
Shaun, fuck off you already know.

I think maybe 38?

I guess the difference is, I've spent most of my life involved one way or another, with racing, and I'm a racer not a road rider. Although I don't have much experience on bikes, I have race craft and a competative nature.
I find I am unable to obey road rules and like to push boundaries. This probably means that I shouldn't be road riding and I'm seriously considering a track bike instead. In saying that, I have always liked to compete at the top, but it is too late for me to start forging a career on bikes. Therefore I have something else about to get underway that you will all be aware of at some stage.
I used to be 38
Shaun says I should say hi.
