Have you got a damaged reed? maybe its gap is incorrect

with the bikes age and being a 2 stroke the carbon build up will be high,so I would be incline too pull the head and barrel off and give them a good clean

you can also cheak the condition of piston and rings

I did a FA50 not long ago and it cost me about $180 for the parts..... head gasket, base gasket, piston kit and rings, Oh and cylinder hone

How much was taken out when you got the hone done? did the freshen up give it more power?

It depends on how bad the bore is for me it was just a polish but went one size over with thr rings and piston

And cleaning the carbon deposits front the head and exhuasrt port makes a huge difference

    Remember this

Well its wat you need for your bike too run well

#1 HEAT cheak that you have heat sorce get a new sparkplug and mqake sure there is spark.....

#2 FUEL make sure you have a good fuel supply aaaaaaaaaaaaaand are you premix fuel or do you have a oil tank bside it ??(if you do I hope your used the right oil )

#2b makesure that fuel is getting into the cylinder,so try starting your bike with out the spark plug lead on but plug in engine, pull out the plug and see what it like ..

it shouldn't be dry so you should be able too smell fuel on it, certainly shouldn't be oily and the old one shouldn't be be covered in corbon deposits which is mostly likley the case

#3 AIR makesure you have the correct air flow going through your motor starteing at the air filter it should clean and in good condition, make sure that the air filter is correctly connected too the carb and that the carb is connected too the engine and there is no damage to cause possible air leaks and reeds are set correct.......Now you have the triangle meeting in the cylinder you need to makesure that the exhuast is also clear of obstructions ie carbon deposit...(as the air flowing into the engine also need too get out as quick as possible) carbon buildup or water settling in the exhaust pipes will cause problems for you

I'd be fitting a new plug, it's easy and cheap. The fault sounds like ignition or if it had been lying round unused then fuel but not in this case. Try a new plug.
