They reduce their fall rate to a terminal velocity of 50-60 km/h from memory.

Jeb Corliss is the man! It was his mate and him that did the fateful bridge jump, only his mate did not make it......

I've been watching vids of this for years, trying to screw enough guts together to have a go at skydiving alone.

But my mind always comes up with "why jump off a perfectly good airplane?"

Maybe one day, tis on the bucket list!

There's no such thing as "a perfectly good aeroplane"... but the excuse is "because the door was open!".

No guts required. Training provided that states "knowledge dispels fear".

    No guts required, my arse.

And all that rationality of yours isn't going to convince me in a hurry, but thanks for trying to be so "soothing" to my jittery nerves

I know you are right, don't get me wrong. But fear is irrational, and i have found that for me to conquer it, I need time and get my head around it.

Just go to a drop zone and look at the faces of the people who have jumped for the first time. If that doesn't convince you nothing will.

I've done 35 jumps ... the last one from 12,000 feet. All the fear goes ... the second you're out the door.

Man (sorry ... WOMAN) what a view ...

Solo jumps take a bit of training .. so everything is automatic.
