Kevlar jeans

Is it worth forking out the extra bit of money for a pair of draggon jeans? or would a pair of "non brandname" kevlar jeans be fine?
Had a look at motormail and the draggon jeans was $339 which is quiet a bit for a starting biker like myself but if it will save my arse better than cheaper kevlar jean alternatives then it would be worth it. But would it?

I am using Shift Torque Street Jeans http://www.sportspro.co.nz/products/...eet_jeans.aspx and find them better than my Draggins.
Better fit, nicer feel, look beter, But I dont know how they will go when I slide down the street on my arse..

Also look up the Rhino jeans website,,, same kevlar as draggin jeans, but half the price, and a kiwi owned 'brand; I believe

I have herd of those Rhinos only lasting like 4 washes before they are stuffed?

I dont know if this is true, I remember hearing it from somewhere,
Iv been riding in Levis for the entire time I have been on the road, and I have had two spills,
not big ones, one was into the back end of a stopped car at 50km/h
and the other was a low slide around a round about, which left me with a big hole in my new jeans and a bruise black enough to claim red cross food aid in Africa.
Been thinking of Kevlar jeans but at the price of them I would rather have leathers and just deal with riding in jeans for when I go to town etc,

Dude check tardme. I scored brand new Shit jeans for $60.. never worn.
And some Dragons that came for free with a jacket and they had been worn twice....

Don't wash them... ever

Make sure you're not thinking Kevlar jeans would have saved you from your massive bruise. You need some armour for that. Kevlar's just for abrasion resistance

I just bought some Dridrider Jeans today, $180 from Boyds in Hamilton.

Not planning on testing them, I've been riding in Levis for a while but thought I'd upgrade.

I have a pair of 'Hardass' and draggin jeans and find both are comfortable. the draggin do seem to have greater kevlar protection. The draggin pair also have zip off legs so when you get to your destination you can cool off for a while.

Gosh when I got my draggon jeans from Motormail last year they only cost me $285

I wear some Troy Lee knee guards under my $10 warehouse jeans. Just if they dont hold together in a slide.

I got some real cheap winter pants with armour of TM, wore them today. They get kinda steamy in the heat we had today.

I don't think I could ever pay $300+ for a pair of riding jeans. For that money I'd look and proper armour pants with ventilation. I think I paid about $120 for my cortech jeans. The thread in the top heam is coming apart but not really worried about it too much. Pay for what ya get. Bloody happy with them though. Wifey says my ass looks good in them so that's the main thing.

Personally I'd pay $200 tops for jeans.

Got my Draggins for $240 ish from a bike store on TM. They still have them on there for that price I think. Had them almost a year and washed them monthly I guess. They still look the same as when I bought them. No 'road testing' yet though but I imagine whatever you're wearing it's still gotta hurt!
