Phillip Island ride days which is basically california superbike school are great! I wouldnt recommend there bike hire option though, the guy that does the hire is a complete tool and it destroys the whole experience

Yep - A friend of mine did that at Eastern Creek. He lowsided at the slow hairpin (T9 I think) and gracefully slid off. Despite being just race fairing damaged, they stilll charged him the $3500 excess. I hired one once, before I bought my Triumph, but was so scared of dropping it that it wasn't much fun.

You obviously have your finger on the pulse over there Shaun. Can I ask if you have any ideas on how best to keep a track bike over there for use twice a year, probably at Phillip Island?

Yeah you could try posting a classified ad on http://www.formula-xtreme.com.au/ under transport wanted or wanted sections? seems a popular site, short of knowing someone to store it for you (I wouldnt mind however looks like I might be moving back to NZ before the years end..) There are quite a few bike transport options out there if you look around, maybe one of those guys might store it as well. You could look also if any of the race teams would do it cheers.

You could just talk to Damien Mackie. He has one sitting there that never gets used..... Buy it off him and leave it at his workshop.... Mind you I wont be able to use it then!!

Thanks for that. I'm a bit wary of x race bikes in OZ though. Some are just cobbled together for sale with all worn out parts and ready to pop. I was just wanting to do track days, afterburners etc following the Supers and the GP. A street legal 600 would allow us to ride the great ocean road etc too. The rentals are a ripoff if you scratch one.

Robgassit, have plenty of workshop space to store a bike ongoing in Melbourne (for a box of VB ), or I have a GSXR600 trackbike for sale now if you were interested (all stock apart from having black relentless fairings/foam seat/slip on pipe) - PM me if interested. Cheers D.
