Possibly,,,last I heard was some DOC bloke saying the transmiter had probably just fallen off as it was only glued on,,,an here's me thinking they used nails.
Anyway if this is the case then I guess Happy meals turned it off first,,or it simply doesn't transmit from inside a great white.![]()
Does this answer your questions?
Trumpydom!
Incorrect. An emperor peguin doesn't actually have that many predators and the chances of meeting one where the singal stopped transmitting is not high. Leopard seals don't get anywhere near that far north at this time of year.
The transmitter used is designed to fall off at some point, it seems to have done so earlier than expected. This is by far the most likely senario.
Nah - we just use cars and bikes to kill the wildlife - if they're dumb enough to run/jump/fly into you, most ozzies will happily oblige........
hmmm - ozzie....rhymes with mossie......whining annoying pesky little sods that need a good slap...........coincidence?........ I think not.......

Isn't the Gold Coast NZ's 3rd biggest city - something like that anyhoo - was the gag.
