    No a pee...

Saves hobbling to the bog and all that involves, may as well use the shower, it all ends up in the same place

Of course I would never do something like that

My stool is lovely, and you can step on it

    It is a step stool

Reminds me of a joke. You go up to your stepladder, and cry, "You're not my real ladder!"

I love the word stool. It's one of my most favoured homonyms

    Thumbs up Acc

I am amazed at the support I am being shown. I guess you cant argue a snapped bone, but all the same the speed with which things are being organised is amazing.

I have an in home assessment tomorrow, to gauge what hours help I need around the place. Maha has taken over all the cooking duties as well as my personal cares, on top of his job that is more than enough! In the mean time I have been approved 5 hours a week home help to cover off the washing and cleaning stuff.

I have an at work assessment on September 19th with a view to getting me back to work as soon as I am fit. They are a little pushy around that, but I am firm, I wont go back to work until I no longer need opiate based pain relief, I have to have my wits about me in my job, besides it is up to my Doctor to determine when I am fit to go back.

ACC will pay for my transport to work, not taxis as I am too far away from work, but will pay expenses for someone to drive me to work, until I am able to do so myself.

All this is just a few days since I hurt myself. Amazing!

For the first time I am claiming "properly" the response has been fantastic! Lets see how it continues...

Good on you! I found ACC to be very helpful and my Case Manager was/is a honey!

The funny thing is that my weekly compo was due to finish this week, now with this new fracture I have another month at least on another claim...

Careful, Ed, you're turning this into a career....and may well feature on talkback radio.
I reckon Ed and yourself Mom, should confine yourselves to racing mobility scooters...forget trying to walk, it's obviously too dangerous.

So, I have a new cast on, it is lighter and larger (longer anyway) feels wonderful. Oh, oh, I have numb toes this morning, luckily I have a plaster check. Debate on whether to replace the cast. Decision, to go home and attempt to warm the toes up, they are possibly numb from cold? Wheat pack warmed and re-warmed and re-warmed and wool sock and blankie my toes are finally warm

Pain is much more manageable, I am hoping for a decent nights sleep tonight, though I wont hold my breath.

Big thanks to everyone that has helped me out. I bought my youngest daughter a pair of new earings today as a thank you for being my driver this week, of course to my lovely man that is doing my personal cares as well as cooking (under supervision), and to Rodney Health Trust for the home help support. ACC have been amazing. Hope I have not missed anyone out.

I can practically guarantee that holding your breath for an entire night will grant you the longest sleep you'll ever have

Forgive me if I've not read enough, but how long after the incident is it before they let you bend the joints?

I once re-re-sprained my ankle when I was 12, I passed out from the pain 5 minutes later
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

I saw mobility scooters at the home show, one even had twin front disc brakes!

Someone reckoned I could stay on ACC until I run out of vertebrae to fracture...

I find taking a diclophenac, (Voltaren), at night helps to settle me down and give me a better sleep. I haven't taekn one tonight though as I feel not too bad. I've not done a lot today, too cold to go outside...
