Do you think these things were connected?

Were they able to tell you why they think it hadn't healed?

First bit no. I have been encouraged to weight bear as soon as I could, it was only the day before that I actually struck up enough balls to "walk". I was told to be guided by my pain levels. If it hurt at night I had done too much, there fore dont walk was the instruction.

As far as why it has not healed? How long is a piece of string? There are many, many reasons why it may not have done and no doubt a smart arse will find reasons why my ankle has not healed up. You got any idea?

Nope I've got no idea all the stuff I have broken has healed up with no problems

Some pain relief medications like Ibuprofen apparently inhibit healing though, I was told to avoid them

Well you are very lucky then. I cant take anti inflamatory medications so that is not the reason.

Public Health Care comes through again!

Yes indeed. I am really amazed and delighted to report that I have an appointment to see an othopeadic surgeon on Wednesday next week. I was referred to the hospital and also given a letter of referral and a list of private surgeons to try. The quickest appointment I could get was November 14th.

Hopefully things will start moving next week.

I have been forced to re-think my recovery to avoid massive disappointments in future.

Right now my goal is to be off crutches and walking unaided by the time we go camping in January. The rego on Millie is on hold untill 17-1-12, we go camping 13-1. Give me a couple of weeks at the beach, walking and swimming and I will be able to start riding again when we get back

I cant imagine this not being what happens. Anything earlier than this will simply be a bonus

that is the right thing to do, it's just you like riding so much.

good to know that you will see a specialist finally, hopefully this will result in a better healing process.
and for what is worth, you have many a offer from just 25year olds to drive you around.....

Thumbs up What a difference 12 days makes

I went to the hospital today. The cast was cut off, and another x-ray taken.

Such good news! I have grown enough bone to come out of plaster and graduate into a moon boot

Another 6 weeks and I reckon I will be running

Goodonyer! I knew that if it required growing a bone you'd be able to do it...

I just walked down the hall bare legged I am whispering cos it is possibly a bit early

Off to the shower to degunge my leg.

Got to love my hubby, he text to ask what it looked like, I replied, hairy and scaley and skinny and smelly. His response?

Just like the other one then
