Don't stick your hands up lead roles this time, just enjoy the time away...who was it that offered their services for a lead role after the Naki ride?

This ride is designed for the learner/newer rider, you must be bike fit at the very least. The longest stint in the seat is 83kms. We stop at 83km (coffee/pie) 62kms (fuel and bum rest) 70kms (lunch break about an hour) 82kms (full stop)
That is day one 297kms...Day two is 260kms to the cape and back, a real easy ride. Day three is 336kms back to Auckland.
For some like yourself, as a guide, ride from Takapuna to Hampton downs (75kms) without a stop and you can do this ride. plus maintain a decent speed, that is all motorway where a constant 100kph is doable.

I did from albany out to kaukapakapa, up sh16 to woodcocks rd over to warkworth, then out to matakana
On the way home was kaukapakapa out to helensville the on to old north road, riverhead coatsville road back to albany. Yesterday. So by November I'd have had more saddle time and more trainings, so my riding should be up to par, my bike on the other hand is another issue lol. Hello Spectrum tomorrow.

In spring/summer I'll be riding at least 4 times a week to practice and better myself.

Wont quite make it to the lighthouse this weekend, but will go part way up Cape Road to check out a couple of things.

    * Part ride on ninety mile beach for those who want to/Pukenui for the Lunch stop/Te kao for Northlands biggest Ice cream.

The San Marino sleeps about 20, maybe squeeze in a few more so up to 24 ...that's the cut off point (no worries for tenters though) of which about a 1/3 are normally learner riders.
Three groups of eight or so bikes. Faster/more experienced riders in groups 1-2.
Looking at Nov' 15-16-17 at this early stage.

May get an end of Winter overnighter ride in, late August.
Me and Andre headed up North for over the weekend. Found some new roads on the way back down and managed to get a Twin Bridges in. No road works this time but lots of cow crap.

    Love the riding up North.

Yeah Grant some nice riding to be had for sure, Anne and I did most of that a few weeks ago for something to do.
There is a alternative road from Kaikohe to Dargaville that's well worth the detour..http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

We ended up going south this weekend http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...at-the-Chateau

Looking at an overnight ride like the Kawhia ride last yeah, same date, end of August but will be titled...'Do the Time Without the Crime Ride'...some well travelled roads and some not so. Accommodation will be somewhere a little different to say the least

So end of August for those wanting to brush off the winter crap by then.

How cool! Best you post up some details of this ride early. Might even be tempting to others to ride to where we are staying. Should be a great weekend away!

Thinking of taking leave around then. Could be a good start. 31st is best for us; although the 24th could be arranged. Might be just me for this one.
