Bummer! The roads would have been lethal yesterday, we have not had much rain in the past 2 months. Take care of that arm, we want you fit in a couple of weeks

A 50 and a 60 KM stint from Awanui should be doable.
Stopping at Houhora both on the way up and back.

I just dragged the line around to give some idea of milage and it ended up where it is...the final route will need defining.

The biggest damage of all was to my ego. Bit of a wake-up call to us "experienced" bikers. Even a seemingly harmless standing start can go horribly wrong if we're not careful,

The arm should be good as new in a few days, just a bit of muscle soreness, no real lasting damage. Not even a bruise (but then It takes a lot to make me bruise, my capillaries seem to be almost indestructable).

one sugestion would be from Dargaville south through ruawai and out to the southern side of the Brynderwyns, then left and up through the twisties and down to Ruakaka.

Only a couple of weeks to go now, getting a new front tyre next thursday, so should be all sorted for the trip
