What is wrong with these wankers??????

Since this has got a little off track with the oxymorons back to the booze

Whats peoples thoughts on current booze age?

I personally don't think the age is the problem it's the anti that we have towards booze. It's no, no, no until 18 (or they get their hands on it) then they just go "crazy" (cat outta the bag n all that) I think getting brought up round booze, getting taught "proper" is whats needed, parental responsibility... That thing we keep trying to legislate out.

Fuck the little pricks "I'm 18 so I can do blah-blah-blah" shit - an 18 year old is a 12 year old that's lived a further 6 years without any change in their thought process ...and giving them the vote etc is like giving a chimp and AK47
    Make it 21 again.

Don't expect the parents to suddenly be responsible - the little shits that get pissed and cause trouble are of no interest to the parents once they're out of the house.

I tend to find the 18yr olds like that come from the "no, no, no" families & I wasn't talking about parental responsibility at 18 I was talking on their way upto 18, a bit of "here you can have a wee bit don't be a twat" as they were growing up, so as to teach them about the booze & not have the "cat outta the bag" problem

I do think that the issue could be reduced a bit if parents took better attitudes when teaching their kids about booze.Growing up, I was allowed to sip the foam off dads beer at 12, by 13 I was allowed a half glass of wine aat christmas, 14 I could have a full glass on special occaisions, 15, I was allowed a couple of cans If I went to a party and so on. I think it made alcahol less of a 'Ooooh never been allowed this, lets get into it'. I've never given into 'heres a shot, knock it back' 'or chug chug chug' chantsfrom friends, Idrink MY drink at MY speed.
Having siad that there have been occaisions when Ive had WAYYYYY to much, and nobody else was to blame.

The problem is that them in govt think that chronological ordering is the way to go for setting 'responsibility'. which is odd. look at it this way.
at 16, you can legally fuck, get pregnant and have a baby. you are solely responsible for that baby, its completely dependent on you for the necessities of life, and you are in charge of everything that baby does, eats or consumes.

Yet, its not untill you are TWO yearsolder, that you are deemed responsible enough to oversee what goes into your OWN body, i.e. ciggarettes and alcahol.
whats the age of responsibility then?

Its got to do with alot more than just age.

I reckon. At 16 you can stick your dick in a fat ugly mole and get burdened with her while you try to do the right thing by raising the unwanted kid that slides out of her cavernous hole, but you can't sink some beers in which the most likely bad outcome is passing out with the toilet duck holder wedged in your ear and spew encrusting in each nostril.

Gone are the days of going to pub and getting in one week, unable the next lol, depending on bands playing as a 19yr old.

Had a cop ask me for ID as a 20yr old one night, was sitting round a table and he picked out my brother and myself,as we went outside looked at each other wondering what or who had died. But they wanted to do age checks, was easy as as I was 20 and brother was 19(he was 13 mths younger)we would switch birth years,so I said he's my older bro,his dob is 12,11,61 etc,and showed my licence ,both cops conferred and we were let in.

But in those days closing was 11pm,we never tanked up much before.Unlike kids today with bars open till 3am etc.

I stand by the fact 18 for beer and wine in cafes and off licences/supermarkets,but 20 for spirits, take away rtd's for 18yr olds, and lower the alcohol to 5%none of the higher %rtd's.
Hello officer put it on my tab

The Govt tried to put the young ones off RTDs in Aussie by boosting the price of them etc.

Didn't work, they just went out and bought a bottle of El Cheapo vodka, some soda-pop and made their own RTDs.
