Bumped into a of couple cars - What is my to-do list?

Had a fender bender last night coming back from the supermarket, dodged a car pulling out and crossed the white, locked up the rear and target fixated full opposite lock into two cars. Broke both pegs and both exhausts, headlight naffed and forks a little askew.

Details exchanged etc, I'm about to ring them up and go around to their places to take pictures of the damage I did (One car had matching bumper dents on both sides, the other I punched a hole in theirs.)

No insurance on my behalf etc, never had an accident before so I'm seeking help as to how best cover my ass from anything that may arise from the pits of monetary hell.

On the plus side, my 12 pack of eggs in my bag are all perfectly fine.
Mango sorbet wasn't, it had melted by the time I got home. Fuck.

Too late. Waited 70 minutes for the cops but they never arrived.

Do you have details of the car that pulled in front of you? my partner in involed with this kind of thing, insurance claims etc, without the first cars details you are probably going to have to pay for repairs to both cars you hit.
From a legal point, you would have been better off to hit the car that pulled out in front of you (im just saying from a legal point of view, i know real life is different). Unless you have a witness or the first cars details, it will probably be seen that you caused the accident and you will be liable for full cost of repairs to the two cars you hit.
third party insurance is like $5 a month and well worth it.
a bumper repair to a car could be as much as $400 per bumper (i used to be a panel beater for a few years)

Black car was pulling out and continued to do so after I avoided him/her, with a bearing opposite of mine.

Legally that would have been preferable, realistically 50km into stationary car is worse than 15km into two stationary cars.

As for the bumpers, I'm aware the OEM ABS plastic costs a dick-tonne, I just don't want to be stung for something else wrong with their car.

Legally, are you responsible for the damage caused, or is the person who pulled out on you responsible?

I don't know the answer but it might be worth finding out.

The risk of just sorting it because it's the right thing to do is that while it's admirable and decent, unfortunately sometimes people take advantage of that and rip you off fixing things that were already broke etc (sadly).

Even if the person pulling out is responsible, others and myself didn't I.D the car, sadly.
Regarding the damages, that's why I will be taking photographs of the damages today.

and yes 15kms into parked car is better then 50km into a moving car for shure. Id say you would not get stung for extra damage you did not do, insurance assesors are x panel men, and have a clue about damage caused.
we used to see all types of "extras" tried to be claimed, some people think panel beaters are stupid, you can tell by how much surface rust is in a scrape as to when it happened. one guy tried to claim his rusted out tailgate was due to and impact in a car parking building caused by another car a week earlier, needless to say his claim did not go thru!!

Hey just a thought. Get in touch with carpark owner as there must be security footage of the car. i.e carpark security camera's.

My fear is that the assessors doing this car could slip one through.
The cops never turned up to write out a 'what happened' story for the insurance companies.

No cameras, sadly. No witnesses either other than the oncoming lady who stopped traffic for me, but since she was not yet around the blind corner, she couldn't have seen the black car.

make sure you update this thread when you've got the final bills, will be a good lesson for all the other people riding around without insurance.

On the bright side at least they weren't expensive cars (I'm guessing you would have already said if there was a BMW or Audi or something else likely to bankrupt you)

.... back in green and feeling great ....

If it was a nice car I would have probably topped myself. No joke.
    Bright side indeed

Sweet mother of god, look at those gouges!
Door handle looks pretty goddamn in tact to me, considering my RH footpeg burst the sidewall of the tyre. $30.

    assuming I read this right..
if you have no insurance its going to be a cunt as youll have to do all the legwork yourself.
You need to argue that the accident was caused by the car pulling out, your collision with another vehicle was a result of the actions of the car pulling out into the 'lane'.
The pulling out car is going to argue that you avoided a collision with THEM, so they are not liable, and that your collision with another vehicle is YOUR fault for travelling at a speed that you couldnt stop in, etc etc.

The car that pulled out did not stop, most likely because they didn't even fucking see me, or by the time they went oops and carried on they wouldn't have noticed a funky headlight in their rear vision. Was actually doing 40 in the wet/dark.

No ACTUAL witnesses, no camera footage, no police report etc.
